Denver, CO – Residents are bracing for a week of intense heat and dynamic weather patterns. Today, temperatures are expected to reach 98°F, significantly above normal highs. Smoke from recent wildfires is forecasted to gradually decrease throughout the day. However, isolated showers and thunderstorms are likely to affect the high country this afternoon and early evening.

According to the US National Weather Service Denver/Boulder, the elevated temperatures will continue into the weekend. Friday will see a slight drop to 90°F, while Saturday and Sunday will bring highs of 91°F and 96°F, respectively. The clear skies on Saturday will give way to partly cloudy conditions on Friday.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday are set to challenge daily heat records with temperatures soaring to 98°F and 99°F. The consistent heat underscores the importance of staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak sunlight hours. Additionally, the reduction in smoke levels will provide some relief for residents with respiratory conditions.

Forecasters also warn of the potential for thunderstorms in the high country, urging residents and travelers to remain vigilant and prepare for sudden weather changes. This pattern of hot temperatures and sporadic showers is typical for Denver’s summer months, emphasizing the region’s need for adaptive preparedness.
