Louisville, Kentucky – Comfortable summer weather will continue across much of Kentucky through the start of the weekend, but residents should prepare for a noticeable return of heat and humidity by early next week as temperatures climb into the 90s and storm chances increase.
According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, Friday will remain dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Afternoon highs will reach 80 to 85 degrees, while overnight lows settle between 62 and 67 degrees, providing another comfortable night across central Kentucky.
An isolated shower is possible Saturday, with only about a 20% chance of rain. High temperatures will range from 81 to 86 degrees, with lows from 66 to 71 degrees. Most communities, including Louisville, Elizabethtown, Bowling Green, Frankfort and Bardstown, are expected to remain dry for much of the day.
The warming trend accelerates Sunday as highs climb into the 86 to 90-degree range under mostly dry skies. By Monday, highs rise to 89 to 94 degrees as heat and humidity return, and thunderstorms could begin to develop during the day. Tuesday turns even hotter, with afternoon temperatures reaching 90 to 95 degrees while muggy conditions continue.
Residents planning outdoor activities early next week should stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the afternoon. Keep an eye on updated forecasts as storm chances evolve.
