Louisville, KY – Residents across Louisville should prepare for a rainy week ahead as showers move into the area late Tuesday night, bringing up to 1-2 inches of rainfall and colder conditions. By Thursday, temperatures will drop sharply, with highs only reaching the low 40s.

According to the National Weather Service, a dry Tuesday during the day will give way to increasing cloud cover by evening. Showers are expected to develop late at night, with a 70% chance of rain persisting into Wednesday morning. Commuters on roadways such as Interstate 64 and Interstate 65 should be cautious of slick conditions and reduced visibility during the morning rush.

Wednesday will see another round of moderate to heavy rain, with an additional inch possible. Winds will also pick up slightly, creating cooler conditions throughout the day. Highs will hover between 50 and 60 degrees, but falling temperatures later in the week will mark a noticeable shift.

On Thursday, skies will clear, but colder air will settle into the region. Daytime highs will struggle to climb past the mid-40s, while overnight lows could dip to the freezing mark by Thursday night.

Looking further into the week, Friday brings the chance for light flurries, with a high around 40 degrees. The weekend will see partly sunny skies and chilly temperatures, with highs only reaching the mid-30s.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated on the latest forecasts and take precautions for rain-soaked commutes and falling temperatures. Travelers should monitor road conditions, especially during peak rain periods on Wednesday.
