Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana begins the week with widespread rain, patchy fog, and gusty winds, followed by cooler temperatures and a chance of snow later in the week.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will bring showers through the morning and early afternoon, with rainfall amounts ranging from 0.25 to 1 inch. Patchy fog is likely before 7 a.m., creating low visibility on major roadways like I-69 and I-70. Motorists should exercise caution during the morning commute. South winds of up to 29 mph will add to travel hazards as temperatures remain near 60 degrees.

By Monday night, skies will clear, and temperatures will dip to a low of 34 degrees, accompanied by west winds gusting to 24 mph. Tuesday promises a break in the rain, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 47.

Midweek, the weather takes another turn. A 50% chance of rain develops Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, followed by falling temperatures and a shift to possible snow Wednesday night into Thursday. Winds are expected to pick up again as colder air moves in, with lows dropping into the 20s by Thursday night.

The week will end with more chances for light snow Thursday and Friday as highs struggle to reach the upper 30s. Residents should prepare for potentially slick roads and windy conditions.

Stay alert for changing weather conditions, especially on major routes and during overnight hours as temperatures drop. Follow local updates for the latest forecasts.
