Charleston, WV – A winter weather advisory remains in effect across portions of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, with snow and gusty winds expected to create hazardous travel conditions through Thursday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Charleston, snow accumulations could reach up to four inches in some areas, with winds gusting as high as 45 mph in central and northern West Virginia. The advisory is set to expire at 1 p.m. for northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and western West Virginia, while parts of central and northern West Virginia will remain under the alert until 10 p.m.

Roads are expected to be slick, particularly during the morning and evening commutes. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and exercise caution. Wind gusts may also bring down tree branches, increasing the risk of power outages.

Drivers can check real-time road conditions by calling 511 or visiting their state’s online traffic portal. For further updates, visit weather.gov/rlx or follow the National Weather Service on social media.
