Louisville, KY – A warm, dry day is expected across Kentucky today before a change in weather begins Thursday afternoon. The National Weather Service in Louisville forecasts increasing chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms late Thursday, becoming more likely overnight and into Friday.
According to the NWS, temperatures today will peak between 87 and 90 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Thursday’s high will climb even further, with temperatures expected to reach 91 degrees. As a front moves into the region Thursday night, scattered storms are forecasted to develop, particularly west of I-65.
Friday will see the highest likelihood of thunderstorms, with a 70% chance of rain throughout the day as temperatures hover between 85 and 91 degrees. Some storms could produce heavy downpours and gusty winds. The rain is expected to linger into Saturday morning, but conditions should gradually improve as the day progresses. Highs on Saturday will range from 84 to 88 degrees with decreasing chances of precipitation by the afternoon.
