Kankakee, IL – The Kankakee Valley Park District is calling on local residents to apply for a recently opened commissioner seat on its governing board.
According to a public notice posted Thursday by the Park District, the open seat carries an unexpired term lasting through the April 2027 consolidated election. The board will appoint a qualified district resident to serve until the election winner is sworn in.
Interested candidates are required to pick up an information packet and submit a letter of interest, along with a completed qualifications questionnaire, by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4. Submissions should be addressed to Dave Skelly, President, c/o Ross Bruni, Executive Director, at 893 W. Station Street, Kankakee, IL 60901. The board will review all applications, conduct personal interviews, and reserves the right to make no appointment if deemed appropriate.
The Park District emphasized its commitment to equal opportunity, stating that all applicants will be considered without discrimination based on race, creed, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, ancestry, age, marital status, disability, pregnancy, or military discharge.
