Kankakee, IL – The annual Halloween Downtown festival returns on Sunday, October 20, 2024, offering a family-friendly day filled with games, food, and entertainment. Hosted in downtown Kankakee, the event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature free games, food vendors, and a trunk-or-treat in the afternoon.
According to event organizers, over 2,000 children attended last year. The 2023 festival included a vendor market, live music from CIRKA, and pony rides, making it a massive hit with the community. Downtown businesses also offered discounts and special promotions.
This year’s event will take place in the 200 block of South Schuyler Avenue and the surrounding areas. Organizers are seeking local businesses and nonprofits to run game booths or sponsor a trunk-or-treat. Vendors and performance groups are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot at the festival.
