Brookfield, IL – Cook County will hold its annual Veterans Resource Fair this Sunday, September 29, at Brookfield Zoo. The event aims to provide resources for veterans and military families while honoring Gold Star families.
The Cook County Department of Veterans Affairs (CCVA) organizes the fair, which runs from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Veterans can access vendor booths, enjoy free lunch, and explore the zoo after the event.
According to CCVA, the fair honors Gold Star Mothers and Families Day, celebrated each year on the last Sunday of September since 1936. The event also offers attendees a chance to meet service providers and participate in activities.
The fair schedule includes a 2 p.m. program with formal remarks, followed by an animal ambassador presentation at 3 p.m. Service members are encouraged to RSVP and provide proof of service to attend.
