This substantial financial support is set to enhance the library resources across five school districts, aiming to bolster student learning experiences.
State Senator Joyce emphasized the critical role of well-equipped libraries in educational success. The grant, totaling $9,315, is part of the School District Library Grant Program, funded through the General Reserve Fund and appropriated by the Illinois General Assembly.
The beneficiaries of this grant include:
- Kankakee School District 111, receiving $3,426
- Bourbonnais Elementary School District 53, awarded $1,897
- Herscher Community Unit School District 2, gaining $1,389
- Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School District 307, allotted $1,584
- Bradley Elementary School District 61, receiving $1,019
This grant, distributed annually, is designed to enrich the library services for over a million students from kindergarten to 12th grade across the state.
