Wheaton, IL – A Glendale Heights resident, Anthony Lane, could face up to 120 years in prison following his conviction for a 2021 home invasion and sexual assault of a senior citizen. The DuPage County jury found Lane guilty of one count of Home Invasion and three counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, all Class X Felonies, after a three-day trial and two hours of deliberation.

The conviction stems from a November 22, 2021 incident, when Lane broke into the home of a 92-year-old woman after her dialysis appointment, bound her with duct tape, and assaulted her. He has been in custody since December 2021 on a $5 million bond.

This case, notable for its brutality against an elderly victim, has highlighted concerns about elder safety and the gravity of such offenses. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin lauded the jury’s decision and the prosecution’s efforts. Lane is set for a post-trial hearing on February 28, 2024, where his sentence will be determined.
