Kankakee, Illinois – Riverside Healthcare has been recognized as a 4 Star Employer in the 2026 VETS Indexes Employer Awards, highlighting the organization’s ongoing efforts to support veterans and military-connected families in the workforce.
According to VETS Indexes, the award recognizes Riverside Healthcare’s commitment to recruiting, hiring, retaining, and developing veterans, as well as supporting members of the National Guard, Reserves, and military spouses. The recognition was announced Monday during the Employing U.S. Vets Conference in New York.
Riverside Healthcare President and CEO Phil Kambic said the honor reflects the organization’s long-standing commitment to those who have served. He noted the healthcare system aims to create a workplace where veterans feel valued and supported throughout their careers.
The VETS Indexes Employer Awards evaluate organizations based on detailed criteria, including veteran hiring practices, employee development, inclusive workplace policies, and family support initiatives. Only companies demonstrating measurable commitment across these areas receive recognition, with awards ranging from 3 Star to 5 Star levels.
Riverside joins a group of nationally recognized employers, including major corporations and public institutions, that are working to expand opportunities for veterans transitioning to civilian careers.
Nicholas Antaki, President of VETS Indexes, said organizations like Riverside are helping set the standard for veteran employment. He emphasized that the program’s updated 2026 platform allows companies to better measure and showcase their progress in supporting military-connected employees.
