Brookfield, Windsor County, VT – A Brookfield woman is facing charges following a reported trespassing incident Monday afternoon, according to local authorities.
According to the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 2:17 p.m. on April 27, 2026, at a property on Stone Road in Brookfield, a small town in Windsor County near the Upper Valley region bordering New Hampshire. Deputies responded to a complaint of unlawful trespassing and began an on-site investigation.
Authorities said Emily N. Warner, 32, of Brookfield, allegedly entered or remained on the property without permission. During the interaction with responding deputies, Warner allegedly became disorderly, leading to an additional charge of disorderly conduct.
The responding officers, identified as Sergeant James Beraldi and Deputy Derek Beagle, determined there was probable cause to issue charges related to both unlawful trespass and disorderly conduct. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Warner was issued a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Orange County Criminal Court on June 24, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Court officials note that hearing dates and times may be subject to change.
