K9 Alerts Texas Sheriff, Homeland Security to Uncover 100 Cocaine Bundles

Victoria, TX – Authorities in Victoria County seized 110 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a truck-tractor during a traffic stop Friday. The stop occurred on Highway 77, where members of the Crossroads HIDTA Task Force conducted the operation. A K9 unit alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, leading to further investigation.

According to the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, officers secured the truck-tractor off the highway and began searching the cargo. The search uncovered a hidden compartment containing 100 bundles of cocaine. Heavy equipment was used to access the compartment.

The investigation continues with assistance from Homeland Security. The sheriff’s office also credited Victoria County Precinct 1 for operating the heavy equipment needed to retrieve the contraband.

The drug seizure is one of the largest recent busts in the region, reflecting ongoing efforts to combat narcotics trafficking along major routes.
