Iowa Weather Forecast: Scattered Showers, Storms Expected This Weekend

Des Moines, IA – Scattered showers and a few storms are predicted for central and northern Iowa from midday Friday through the early evening. While much of tonight and Saturday morning is expected to be dry with partly cloudy skies, additional chances for showers and storms will arise from Saturday afternoon through Sunday.

According to the US National Weather Service Des Moines, the severe weather potential is low for the weekend. Temperatures will remain slightly below normal for this time of year, with highs in the 70s to lower 80s and lows ranging from the upper 50s to middle 60s.

•   Friday: Scattered showers and storms expected in central and northern Iowa during the afternoon and early evening. Highs around 78°F, lows near 61°F.
•   Saturday: Partly cloudy with highs reaching 82°F and lows at 61°F.
•   Sunday: A 45% chance of showers and storms in the afternoon. Highs around 83°F, lows near 64°F.
•   Monday: Partly cloudy with a 35% chance of rain. Highs around 81°F, lows at 64°F.
•   Tuesday: Mostly sunny with highs reaching 84°F and lows near 64°F.
•   Wednesday: Sunny with highs around 85°F and lows at 66°F.
•   Thursday: Mostly sunny with highs near 85°F and lows around 66°F.
•   Friday: Sunny with highs reaching 85°F and lows near 66°F.
