Iowa – A rainy weekend is in store for the Quad Cities and surrounding areas, with Saturday bringing the highest chances of rain before clearer skies arrive for Veterans Day on Monday. Residents should prepare for showers starting late morning Saturday, which could impact outdoor plans. The National Weather Service advises that rainfall amounts will be moderate, generally around a quarter inch or less, with gusty winds reaching up to 20 mph in some areas.
According to the National Weather Service, Saturday’s temperatures will range from 51 to 57 degrees, with rain expected to taper off before midnight. As the weekend progresses, Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 58 degrees, accompanied by a light breeze. Rain chances diminish by late Sunday, setting up a pleasant forecast for Veterans Day.
On Monday, Veterans Day celebrations should see favorable conditions with mostly sunny skies and a high around 59 degrees, ideal for any outdoor events honoring veterans. Overnight temperatures will dip to about 35 degrees, so attendees should bring layers for evening activities.
Looking ahead to early next week, Tuesday is projected to stay dry with sunny skies and a high near 57. However, rain chances return Tuesday night, with scattered showers expected and lows around 44. By Wednesday, temperatures will rise slightly to the upper 50s, though the day could bring additional showers, continuing the cycle of wet and dry weather for the region.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution on wet roads, particularly on local highways and near Davenport where visibility might be reduced during rain showers. Stay updated on the latest weather information and prepare for varying conditions across the weekend and into the week.
