INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A mix of rain, snow, and strong winds will impact Indiana through Thursday night, affecting travel and outdoor plans. Showers and thunderstorms will continue Wednesday before temperatures drop, bringing the chance for snow by early Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts between 35 and 45 mph are expected through Wednesday night, with isolated stronger gusts in thunderstorms. Rain will transition to snow late Wednesday into Thursday morning, with less than half an inch of accumulation expected. Travelers, especially near I-70, should prepare for slick roads by Friday morning.

Thursday will see decreasing clouds and mild conditions, with highs reaching 43°F. Winds will remain breezy from the west at 11-14 mph, with gusts up to 28 mph. By Thursday night, temperatures will drop to 32°F under mostly cloudy skies.

Looking ahead, another round of light snow is possible Friday into early Saturday, mainly north of I-70. Weekend conditions improve, with sunny skies and highs reaching 47°F on Saturday and 51°F by Sunday. Morning lows will remain chilly, ranging from the upper 20s to low 30s.
