According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, a marginal risk of severe weather exists tonight across much of central Indiana, including Marion, Johnson, and Hamilton counties. The storms may arrive after sunset, with locally strong cells capable of producing wind gusts over 40 mph and brief flooding. Scattered showers and non-severe thunderstorms are expected to continue into Monday.

Heat index values climbed into the 90s Sunday afternoon and will remain near 90 degrees on Monday, though slightly cooler temperatures are expected compared to the weekend. Monday’s highs will range from 81°F to 85°F, with lows dipping into the upper 60s.

Cities like Bloomington, Lafayette, and Muncie should prepare for wet roads and slower commutes Monday morning. Residents are urged to stay weather-aware, secure outdoor items, and avoid travel during heavy rain.

Conditions are expected to calm by Tuesday, with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 80s. Another round of storms may return late Tuesday.
