Little Point, Indiana – Drivers in Morgan County should prepare for significant traffic disruptions as closures on State Road 42 between Little Point and Eminence begin this week.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) West Central District, road crews will start closing sections of State Road 42 on or after Monday, July 7. The closures will affect the stretch between Little Point and Eminence as crews install new structures and conduct asphalt patching along the route.
The ongoing construction is expected to last until late October, weather permitting. INDOT advises that travelers plan alternate routes during the closure period to avoid delays. The department also noted that work schedules may be adjusted in the event of inclement weather.
Road signs and detour markers will guide drivers through affected areas. INDOT is encouraging motorists to allow for additional travel time and to remain alert for workers and equipment in the construction zones.
The improvement project aims to enhance road safety and prolong the lifespan of State Road 42, a key route for both local and through traffic in Morgan County.
Further updates and information, including detour maps and project details, can be found on the INDOT West Central social media pages and website.
