Wayne County, IN – A section of westbound Interstate 70 in eastern Indiana is shut down this morning following a semi-truck rollover near the 136 mile marker.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred early Tuesday and has left the trailer overturned across the westbound lanes. Officials say the closure will remain in effect until at least 11 a.m. or noon as crews work to clear the wreckage and remove debris from the roadside.

The incident, which happened near the Indiana-Ohio border, has significantly impacted traffic heading westbound on I-70. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes if possible. Law enforcement personnel and cleanup crews remain on the scene, and there is no official word yet on any injuries or what may have caused the crash.

This stretch of I-70 is a heavily traveled corridor, and traffic delays are expected to persist throughout the morning. No estimate has been given for when full traffic flow will be restored.

Motorists traveling west from the Richmond area should monitor Indiana Department of Transportation updates or local traffic apps for the latest information and detours.

Officials have not yet identified the driver or any other vehicles possibly involved in the accident.
