Indianapolis, IN — Tropical Storm Francine is expected to bring substantial rain to Indiana as the weekend approaches. The storm’s remnants could impact much of central Indiana, with southern areas most likely to experience heavy rainfall. Forecasters are closely monitoring the system for further developments.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Indianapolis, confidence is high that the southern portion of the state, particularly areas near the I-74 corridor, will receive rain between Friday and Saturday. There is still uncertainty for areas north of I-74, where rain likelihood remains lower.
Forecasters warn that while southern Indiana has an 80% chance of rain, central areas could experience more than half an inch of rainfall. Areas of highest uncertainty include regions north of Indianapolis, where rain projections remain unclear. Indiana residents are encouraged to monitor updates closely and be prepared for potential localized flooding in heavier rain bands.
