Anderson, IN – A police officer in Anderson faces charges of child solicitation and official misconduct, Indiana State Police announced Tuesday.
Authorities arrested Joshua L. Senseney, 50, for three counts of child solicitation, a Level 5 felony, and official misconduct, a Level 6 felony. Senseney worked as a school resource officer at an Anderson Community School when the alleged incident occurred in May.
According to Indiana State Police, the investigation began in June after Anderson police reported allegations involving inappropriate text messages to juveniles. The Anderson Police Department placed Senseney on administrative leave during the investigation.
A special prosecutor from Grant County issued a warrant for Senseney’s arrest. On Monday at 9 a.m., he turned himself in to authorities without incident. Officials processed him at Madison County Jail, where he posted bond and was released.
Investigators said the investigation remains ongoing, and further details are unavailable at this time.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
