Cass County, IN – Wednesday shortly before 9:00 p.m., Indiana State Police troopers arrested Justin G. A. Vorhees, 34, of Macy, IN, following a domestic dispute.
According to Indiana State Police Peru Post detectives, Vorhees allegedly battered a woman inside a vehicle while armed with a deadly weapon. During the altercation, the gun discharged, and Vorhees reportedly prevented the woman from exiting the vehicle.
The woman reportedly managed to escape later by jumping from the moving car, running to a nearby house, and calling for help. She was treated for injuries at a local hospital and released.
Vorhees was later located and taken into custody without incident and then transported to the Cass County Jail. He now faces several charges including Criminal Confinement While Armed with a Deadly Weapon and Domestic Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
