Lake County, IN – Bridge work on I-65 between State Road 2 and State Road 10 has entered phase one of construction, affecting traffic patterns through fall 2025. Southbound traffic remains shifted to the right, while northbound traffic splits into one lane on the southbound side and one lane on the northbound side. This lane configuration will change throughout different construction phases.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), work on the northbound side will continue until early November. Traffic will return to its normal configuration during the winter. In spring 2025, traffic patterns will switch to allow bridge work on the southbound side.

Pre-phase work began in April 2024, focusing on strengthening and widening the shoulders and median. Three bridges will be replaced along this section of I-65, with the entire project expected to be completed by fall 2025.
