Illinois Weather Update: Warming Trend Continues with Rain Chances by Midweek

Springfield, IL – Mild temperatures are set to return to Illinois early next week, with highs gradually rising through the weekend. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Central Illinois, temperatures will reach the mid-30s on Saturday, mid-to-upper 40s on Sunday, and climb into the mid-50s from Monday through Wednesday.

Overnight lows will range from 8 to 15 degrees tonight but are expected to stay above freezing heading into next week. While Monday night may see a slight chance of rain, especially north of I-72, a more widespread rain event is anticipated by Wednesday, with a 40-50% chance of precipitation.

Residents can expect mostly sunny and partly cloudy conditions over the weekend, with temperatures reaching 34-36°F on Saturday and 45-47°F on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday will bring partly cloudy skies and highs between 52-58°F before rain chances increase midweek.
