Chicago, Illinois – A dry cold front sweeping through Illinois will bring cooling temperatures and breezy conditions by Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Expect falling temperatures throughout the day, with highs reaching only 67°F to 79°F in most areas before dropping.

Temperatures will remain on the cooler side Thursday, especially near the Lake Michigan shoreline, where highs may not exceed 57°F to 67°F. Overnight lows in the region will range from 42°F to 49°F, leaving a chill in the air. However, by Friday and Saturday, warmer temperatures are forecast to return, with highs climbing into the low 70s for most of the state.

For travelers and outdoor activities, prepare for gusty winds and a noticeable temperature drop. While conditions will stay dry through Thursday, it’s advisable to bundle up in the evenings and early mornings.

Warmer temperatures are expected to return by the weekend, bringing a welcome break from the midweek cool down. Stay tuned for further updates as conditions evolve.
