Chicago, IL – Northern Illinois will see a shift in weather this weekend as isolated showers and increasing humidity set the stage for thunderstorms. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts a three-day stretch of fair weather ending Saturday, followed by more turbulent conditions Sunday and Monday.

According to the NWS, low humidity and clear skies will persist through Saturday, with daytime highs ranging from 74 to 87 degrees. However, as the weekend progresses, humidity levels will rise, creating the perfect environment for showers and thunderstorms. Sunday is expected to be particularly humid, with a 50-60% chance of scattered storms and temperatures reaching the mid-80s.

The stormy conditions will continue into Monday, with a similar 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms. These storms may produce torrential downpours, leading to localized flooding in some areas. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and be prepared for sudden changes.

Looking ahead, the weather will remain warm and humid into early next week, with temperatures hovering in the mid to upper 80s. While Tuesday might offer a brief respite with partly cloudy skies and a high of 86, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to see temperatures climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s.
