Champaign, IL – Central Illinois residents can expect cooler and drier weather through the weekend as temperatures are forecasted to remain a few degrees below normal. Light winds and clearing skies are anticipated tonight, offering a refreshing change from recent weather patterns.

According to the US National Weather Service Central Illinois, a secondary cold front will arrive on Thursday evening, ushering in below-normal temperatures and comfortable humidity levels. Today’s high is expected to reach between 77-82 degrees, with light northeast winds at 10-15 mph. Tonight, temperatures will drop to 57-65 degrees with continued light winds.

Thursday will see partly sunny skies with highs ranging from 81-86 degrees before the cold front moves in later in the evening. The weekend will bring even cooler temperatures, with highs between 74-79 degrees on Friday and Saturday, and similar conditions expected on Sunday. Overnight lows will be in the mid-50s, providing a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for outdoor activities.

The extended forecast for Champaign shows a return to slightly warmer temperatures early next week, with highs reaching 80 degrees by Tuesday. The air quality index remains good, indicating healthy conditions for residents.
