Arkansas, AR – Triple-digit heat remains in the forecast across southwest Arkansas on Wednesday. The US National Weather Service in Little Rock predicts temperatures will soar, with cities like Texarkana and De Queen expected to hit 102°F and 101°F, respectively. Fort Smith and Mena are projected to see highs of 98°F and 99°F.
According to the National Weather Service, while readings elsewhere will be somewhat cooler, significant heat is expected across much of the state. Little Rock will experience a high of 94°F, with Pine Bluff and Hot Springs also reaching into the mid-90s. Areas in the northeast, such as Jonesboro and Hardy, will see temperatures in the upper 80s.
Looking ahead, the heat wave will continue throughout the week. Thursday’s forecast includes temperatures reaching 95°F, and Friday will see a slight dip to 92°F. The weekend will bring some relief with highs around 89°F on Saturday and Sunday. However, the heat is expected to ramp up again on Monday, with temperatures climbing back to 96°F.
