Oswego, IL – A stretch of Route 34 was temporarily shut down this afternoon following a three-vehicle collision that briefly halted traffic near Boulder Hill Pass.
According to the Oswego Police Department, officers were called to the scene at approximately 12:36 p.m. on Wednesday after a Ford Mustang, reportedly driven by a 17-year-old girl, lost control while heading eastbound on Route 34. The vehicle allegedly struck a Subaru WRX traveling westbound, then continued to spin and hit a Tesla Model 3, also westbound.
Police said all three vehicles were evaluated on scene by the Oswego Fire Protection District, and no injuries required hospitalization. All occupants were released at the scene following medical assessments.
The driver of the Ford Mustang was cited for allegedly driving too fast for conditions and improper lane usage, authorities confirmed.
Route 34 was closed for roughly 55 minutes between Boulder Hill Pass and Wolf Road as crews cleared the scene. The roadway has since reopened to traffic.
Oswego Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
