Aurora, IL – A major traffic disruption is underway in Aurora as emergency crews respond to a ruptured gas line along Diehl Road.
According to the Aurora Police Department, Diehl Road is currently closed to eastbound traffic at Felten Road and westbound traffic at Molitor Road while emergency repairs take place. The closure is expected to remain in effect for several hours on Wednesday.
Authorities are urging motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes, as the shutdown is likely to cause significant delays. Crews are on scene conducting necessary repairs, and police are asking drivers to follow posted detour signs to ensure the area remains clear for first responders and utility personnel.
The exact cause of the gas line rupture has not been disclosed. No injuries have been reported at this time, and there is no word yet on when the road will reopen.
