Bolingbrook, IL – A serious crash involving a rolled over semi-truck has shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 55 near milepost 268 in Bolingbrook, causing major traffic disruptions in Will County.
According to Illinois State Police Troop 3, the incident happened earlier today and involves a Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer (TTST) that overturned, blocking all northbound lanes and the left lane of I-55 southbound. As a result, traffic is currently being rerouted from I-55 northbound to Illinois Route 53.
Officials have not provided further details regarding injuries or how long the closure will remain in place. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while emergency crews work to clear the scene.
