Douglas County, IL – Authorities are searching for Tyson Hays, a parole violator considered armed and dangerous. He escaped capture during a parole violation arrest attempt in Garrett, Illinois. The U.S. Marshals Service and Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) Parole are leading the manhunt, warning the public to exercise caution.
According to the Atwood Police Department, Hays fled when authorities tried to apprehend him, evading capture and returning to unknown locations. Hays, who is 35 years old, was last seen driving a damaged 1991 Ford F-150 with Illinois license plate number 3490361B. Police believe he may be hiding in the area or potentially on the move in the region.
Authorities urge anyone with information on Hays’s whereabouts to contact either the U.S. Marshals Service or IDOC Parole. He is wanted on a parole violation warrant, and officials have advised the public not to approach him due to the potential threat. Hays was previously incarcerated at Stateville Correctional Center and now has absconded parole supervision.
