Danville, IL – A Danville man received a five-year prison sentence for a brutal domestic attack that left the victim blind in one eye.
On February 21, 2025, Jeremy Brown, 29, pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic battery – great bodily harm, a class 2 felony. Judge Mark S. Goodwin sentenced Brown to five years in prison. He must serve 85% of his sentence before completing four years of supervised release.
Danville police responded to a domestic violence call on Oak Street on September 14, 2024. Brown had been at the victim’s apartment but was leaving. He re-entered, punched the victim in the face, and left her covered in blood.
Brown drove the victim to OSF Hospital, claiming he accidentally elbowed her. Doctors found shattered orbital bones, and the victim lost her eye. She was airlifted to St. Louis for emergency treatment.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy praised investigators and said her office remains committed to seeking justice for domestic violence survivors.
