Dallas, TX – A severe weather outbreak is expected to hit portions of Texas, Louisiana, and the Southeast on Tuesday, March 4, and Wednesday, March 5, bringing the potential for tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail.

According to the National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center, strong storms will first impact areas across the ArkLaTex region, the Lower Mississippi Valley, and the Southeast on Tuesday, before shifting eastward into the Mid-Atlantic and the Carolinas by Wednesday. The highest risk for significant severe weather, including strong tornadoes, is currently forecast for parts of Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Meteorologists warn that all severe weather hazards are possible, with wind gusts exceeding 60 mph and hailstones larger than golf balls in the most intense storms. The risk of tornadoes is increasing for portions of eastern Texas, northern Louisiana, and central Mississippi.

Residents are urged to stay weather-aware, as the location, magnitude, and timing of the storms may evolve. The NWS recommends monitoring forecasts and having a severe weather plan in place. Updates will be available on weather.gov and local emergency channels.
