Illinois Man Arrested This Week for Allegedly Threatening State Lawmaker

Homer Glen, IL – A Homer Glen man is facing a felony charge after authorities say he allegedly threatened an Illinois state representative earlier this week.

According to the Illinois State Police, 40-year-old Steven Brady was arrested on Sunday following an investigation into a threat made against State Representative Nicole Laha. ISP agents were first notified of the alleged threat on Thursday and apprehended Brady without incident three days later.

Brady has been charged with one count of Threat to a Public Official, a Class 3 felony, according to the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office. He is currently being held at the Will County Adult Detention Center.

Authorities have not released additional details about the nature of the threat or any potential motive. The Illinois State Police noted that their Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 West Violent Crimes Unit conducted the investigation.
