Morris, IL – A Grundy County woman from Morris has won $3 million on an Illinois Lottery scratch-off ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K convenience store in Channahon.
The anonymous winner, a fan of scratch-off games, bought three tickets when she noticed a new game on display. The third ticket revealed the top prize. “I still can’t believe it happened to me,” the winner said. “It was the longest weekend of my life waiting to confirm the win.”
Unable to verify the prize until after the weekend, she later scanned the ticket at the store, confirming the $3 million win. The ticket, part of the $30 $3,000,000 Super Bonus game launched in July, made her a newly-minted millionaire.
The winner plans to invest, remodel her home, and travel. The retailer also received a $30,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. So far, Illinois Lottery Instant Tickets have awarded players over $1.1 billion in prizes this year.
