Indiana Authorities Investigating Death After Medical Call Near DeMotte

DeMotte, IN – Authorities in Jasper County are investigating a death following a medical emergency that occurred southwest of DeMotte. On September 8, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call around 8:35 p.m. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) from Keener Township arrived at the scene, located about four miles outside DeMotte, and called for additional support from the Fire Department and Sheriff’s Deputies.

According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the patient passed away on September 10. The Lake County Coroner’s Office will complete the investigation and inform the family once their findings are finalized. The cause of death has not yet been released.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance from the Indiana State Police to ensure a thorough investigation. Authorities have not disclosed any additional details about the incident or the identity of the individual involved.
