Storms are expected to develop after 4 p.m. and continue into the overnight hours, increasing the risk for widespread impacts.
Primary threats include tornadoes, damaging wind gusts exceeding 60 mph, and large hail potentially over 1 inch in diameter. Cities at risk include Paducah, Mayfield, Murray, and Hopkinsville, along with nearby areas such as Cape Girardeau and Carbondale. Travel along major routes like I-24, I-57, and I-69 could become hazardous during peak storm activity, with reduced visibility and debris possible.
