Dallas, TX – Isolated thunderstorms could develop as early as 3 p.m. Friday across North Texas, with the potential to disrupt evening travel and produce localized damage.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, storm chances will remain in the 20 to 40 percent range each afternoon and evening through Sunday. The highest coverage is expected along and north of I-20 and east of I-35, including Dallas, Sherman, Paris, and Canton.

While many areas will stay dry, any storm that forms could quickly become severe. Primary hazards include hail up to 1 inch in diameter and wind gusts reaching 50 to 60 mph. These storms will be isolated, meaning impacts will vary significantly from neighborhood to neighborhood.

Drivers along I-35, I-20, and U.S. 75 should be prepared for sudden downpours, brief visibility drops, and debris on roadways during stronger cells. Outdoor plans may need to shift quickly, especially during the late afternoon and early evening hours.

Temperatures will climb into the mid-80s to low 90s through the weekend, fueling instability for additional storm development. Low storm chances continue into early next week, with scattered activity possible by Tuesday and Wednesday.
