Quad Cities, Iowa/Illinois – Residents across the Quad Cities can expect a noticeable shift in the weather by Thursday as a warming trend pushes high temperatures toward 90 degrees by early next week.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, tonight will remain cloudy and cool, with lows between 50 and 54 degrees and a 20% chance of isolated showers. The pattern begins to change Thursday, bringing highs in the low 70s and gradually climbing into the upper 80s by Monday. Off-and-on showers will persist through the weekend, with rain chances holding between 15% and 30% through Saturday.
Cities like Davenport, Bettendorf, Rock Island, and Moline could see partly sunny skies and afternoon highs in the mid-80s by Sunday. Brief showers may develop, but no widespread rainfall is expected. Drivers should watch for wet pavement in the mornings, especially on Friday and Saturday when scattered light rain may occur.
Residents should stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours starting Sunday. With highs nearing 90 by Memorial Day, the National Weather Service advises checking on vulnerable populations and ensuring pets have access to water and shade.
More updates are expected as the warmup continues into next week.
