Elgin, IL – John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. has issued a recall for its Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews due to undeclared milk and coconut allergens, posing serious risks to individuals with allergies.

The Elgin, Illinois-based company announced the voluntary recall on March 12, 2024, with the FDA publishing the notice the following day. The recall specifically targets the 8.25 oz plastic cans with a best if used by date of July 8, 2025, marked by the code GH2.
According to the company, the affected products were mistakenly labeled and may contain coconut cashews instead of honey roasted cashews, a mix-up identified after a consumer report. These products, sold in select Walmart stores across various states and online, could trigger severe or life-threatening reactions in those allergic to coconut or milk. No adverse reactions have been reported thus far.
Customers in possession of the recalled cashews are advised to either dispose of them or return them to Walmart for a full refund. For further assistance or information, consumers can contact John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. directly.
