Meanwhile, the Skillet Fork River at Wayne City is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight, cresting at 20.5 feet by Sunday afternoon, before falling below flood stage by late Monday evening. The flood stage for the Skillet Fork is 15 feet.
According to the National Weather Service, both rivers are experiencing significant rises, and the upcoming rain could cause further increases. Residents should remain vigilant and avoid walking or driving near flooded areas. As the warning continues, officials emphasize the importance of turning around when encountering flooded roads and not driving around barricades.
