North St. Louis County, MO – The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced lane closures on I-270 eastbound starting tonight, Friday, Sept. 13. The closure will affect the stretch from Riverview Dr. to Illinois Route 3, with traffic reduced to one lane to allow road repairs.

According to IDOT, the lane restrictions will start at 9 p.m. tonight and will remain in place through the weekend. All lanes are scheduled to reopen by Monday, Sept. 16, at 5 a.m. Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays and plan for extra travel time.

The lane closures are part of ongoing repairs to the Mississippi River Bridge and Riverview Interchange. Authorities advise drivers to remain cautious, especially during peak travel hours. Alternate routes are recommended for those looking to avoid the construction zone.

Motorists can stay updated on the project through IDOT’s website and social media channels. Safety remains a priority, and crews are working to ensure timely completion of the repairs.
