Normally, the dispensary offers a 22% daily discount to honor Veterans, the highest in Illinois. However, in recognition of the day, the discount doubles, underscoring Mint’s commitment to supporting Veterans’ needs.
Mint Cannabis established the 22% daily discount as a reminder of the 22 Veterans who, on average, die each day in the U.S. due to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The company aims to raise awareness of this tragic statistic and support Veterans facing challenges from PTSD, unemployment, and homelessness.
Veterans who wish to access the discount can visit Mint’s Willowbrook location at 900 75th Street. Presenting a military ID, including U.S. Uniformed Services ID or Retired ID, is required to claim the offer.
“We recognize the psychological toll Veterans face,” said Omar Fakhouri of Mint Cannabis, emphasizing the need for mental health awareness. The dispensary aims to serve Veterans year-round and is expanding locations nationwide to reach more customers.
