Katy, TX — Igloo Products Corporation has expanded its recall of 90-quart rolling coolers following amputations, bone fractures or lacerations, raising the total number of coolers recalled to nearly 1.2 million. The coolers, sold nationwide and online, pose a risk of severe injuries due to a defective tow handle that can pinch users’ fingers between the handle and the cooler body.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the expanded recall affects an additional 130,000 coolers, manufactured prior to January 2024. This follows a previous recall of more than 1 million coolers in February 2025. The company received 78 reports of injuries, including 26 incidents of fingertip amputations and other serious injuries.

The recalled coolers, which feature a tow handle, were sold under the Igloo brand at major retailers such as Costco, Target, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, as well as through online platforms like Amazon. Affected models include Igloo Latitude 90 Qt Rollers manufactured between 2020 and early 2023. These coolers, which are primarily white with black accents, are identified by the model numbers 34692, 34785, and 34790.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle. The coolers, sold for between $80 and $140, were available from January 2019 through January 2025.

The CPSC warns that the cooler’s tow handle, which can unexpectedly pinch fingers when used, represents a significant safety hazard. Igloo has urged customers to check the manufacturing date and model numbers of their coolers to see if they are part of the expanded recall.

Consumers can contact Igloo for further assistance at 888-943-5182 or visit the company’s recall page for more information.
