Idaho — Sunshine floods the Treasure Valley this morning, warming cool pavement as Boise shifts quickly from a crisp start to a near-summer feel.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures began near 48 degrees early this morning and will climb to around 76 degrees by afternoon.
This is part of a broader western warm-up, as high pressure builds across the region and pushes temperatures well above seasonal norms.
The immediate impact window runs through midday as rapid warming clears out the morning chill. Roads along I-84, Eagle Road, and Chinden Boulevard remain dry and clear, making for smooth travel. However, winds may pick up later today, with gusts over 20 mph possible by evening, especially in open areas west of Boise and near Meridian.
By tonight, temperatures fall back to near 50 degrees with increasing clouds. While not freezing, the cooler air may still impact early-season gardening in outlying rural zones like Kuna and Nampa.
The weekend brings a stronger warm push. Highs reach the low 80s by Saturday and peak near 83 degrees Sunday, delivering a noticeable “summer tease” across Boise, Caldwell, and Middleton. Outdoor plans will benefit, but hydration and sun protection become more important.
Meteorologists are now tracking a pattern shift early next week. By Monday into Tuesday, slight chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms return. While severe storms are not expected, brief downpours and lightning could affect afternoon travel and outdoor plans.
Five-Day Outlook for Boise:
Saturday: Partly sunny, high 82
Sunday: Mostly sunny, high 83
Monday: Sunny, high 82
Tuesday: Sunny, high 81
Wednesday: Sunny, high 84
