Houston, TX – A shooting in north Houston left one man in critical condition and another hospitalized, prompting an active response from local law enforcement officials Tuesday.

Authorities responded to the 12200 block of Bammel North Houston Road, where a male was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. A second male was also taken to the hospital for what officials described as non-life-threatening precautions.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred earlier Tuesday, with Major Ben Katrib and Major Earl Dean, alongside Lt. Dennis Wolfford, briefing media at the scene. Investigators said the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation, and it is not yet clear what may have prompted the incident.
