Harrisburg, PA – Arrest Made in Fire at Pennsylvania Governor’s Residence

Harrisburg, PA – Authorities in Pennsylvania have announced the arrest of a 38-year-old man in connection with a fire at the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg early Friday morning. Cody Balmer is currently in custody as the investigation into the incident continues.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the fire broke out on April 13, 2025, at approximately 2 a.m. The Harrisburg Bureau of Fire quickly responded to the scene on North Front Street, where they were able to extinguish the blaze. Fortunately, no one was injured as the Governor and his family were safely evacuated from a different part of the residence.

While investigators have not confirmed all details, they believe the fire was deliberately set and have categorized it as an act of arson. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for the incident.

The Pennsylvania State Police are continuing their investigation in collaboration with multiple agencies. Tips can be submitted through the PSP Tips website, and individuals with information are encouraged to contact authorities.
