Dover, NH – A motorcycle crash on Route 16 in Dover on Monday claimed the life of an Exeter man and left another person injured. The accident occurred at 12:48 p.m. on the Spaulding Turnpike.
State Troopers identified the deceased as Jason Emerzian, 64. He was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene. Emerzian’s Harley Davidson crashed into a median guardrail, causing both him and his passenger to be thrown from the bike.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, the accident happened after Emerzian lost control of the motorcycle. Another vehicle then struck him after he was thrown onto the road. His passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Emergency services closed both southbound lanes of Route 16 for about an hour. The Dover Police Department, New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and other agencies assisted with the investigation. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash and ask anyone with information to contact Sergeant Wood at the New Hampshire State Police.
